I’ve spoken about the lack of pathways into the creative industries for certain people ad nauseam and it’s no less true now. The inability to get work, the impossibility to get funding, the battle to justify spending to grow, learn and earn knowing that the risk will likely not bear fruit. 

I’ve applied for probably about 500 jobs in the creative industries this year and haven’t even got an interview for the lowest of entry roles 🤣 Maybe it’s a me problem - maybe it’s not.  And I don’t write or create with the idea of making money - I’ve been doing it accidentally for fun before I even knew doing the things I was doing were things that you could do for a job. If I knew storytelling was a job when I was a kid maybe I would have retired from football earlier 🤣. 

Anyway, maybe I’m destined to cynically trudge through life making bits and bobs here and there then hustling to stay alive the rest of the time but I’m gonna try and make more things in the new year. See how it goes init. 🤷🏻‍♂️
